Cargo Aircraft That Overran the Runway in Miami Struck Vehicles
New information has emerged regarding the 21 Air Boeing 767-300F cargo aircraft, operating on behalf of Prime Air, that overran the runway at Miami International Airport.
The FAA announced that 21 Air flight #2I7598, arriving in Miami from San Juan, went off the runway after landing at approximately 2:00 p.m. local time, and that an investigation into the incident will be opened.
According to information relayed by Miami-Dade fire crews, after leaving the runway the aircraft continued beyond the airport boundary, crossed a road and struck multiple vehicles. While various claims have circulated on social media about injuries and fatalities, no statement confirmed by official authorities regarding the number of deaths or injuries has been issued as yet.
